"Avoid Travel Guard and AIG for Your Travel Insurance Needs"
I really messed up by believing a review on Forbes.com when I bought a primary care travel insurance policy for my long-term trip. Turns out, Travel Guard, which they had in their top 2, is just awful! The AIG policy I got is totally disappointing. It's been over two weeks, and I haven't heard a peep from AIG about the claim I filed. When I called their supposed 24/7 line, I got a message telling me to ring back after 8:30 AM EST! I left a message with my policy details, and what do I get back? A suggestion to buy a policy, even though I already gave them my policy number! Finally, when I managed to talk to someone not on the East Coast, they told me that claims are taking longer than the promised 10-15 days because of high volume. Now I'm left with medical bills that should've been covered, and I have no clue how long this mess will drag on or if I'll ever get the help I was promised.

"Travel Guard and AIG are not recommended options for travelers."
I made the mistake of trusting a review on Forbes.com when purchasing a primary care travel insurance policy for a long-term trip, and it turns out that Travel Guard, which they ranked in their top 2, is terrible! The AIG policy they sold me is completely unsatisfactory. It has been over 2 weeks and I haven't received a single response from AIG regarding the claim I submitted. When I called their 24/7 line, I was greeted with a message instructing me to call after 8.30am EST! I left a message providing the details of my policy, only to receive a message back suggesting that I should purchase a policy, even though I had already given them my policy number! When I finally spoke to someone who wasn't on the East Coast, they informed me that their claims are taking longer than the promised 10-15 day turnaround due to high volume. Now I am stuck with medical bills that were supposed to be covered, and I have no idea how long this whole process will take or if I will receive the assistance I was promised.

"Avoid this product at all costs!"
Filing a claim with them is a real hassle because they ask for way too much paperwork, including stuff from the airlines. Just sending your boarding passes and proof of a delayed flight won’t cut it. I have a feeling they do this on purpose to delay payments for claims. I ain't going through this annoying process again; I'd rather keep my cash for something better.

"Do not purchase this product under any circumstances!"
They require an excessive amount of documentation when filing a claim that involves requesting documents from the airlines. Simply sending boarding passes and electronic proof of a delayed flight is not sufficient. I suspect they do this intentionally to withhold payment for claims. I would not endure this frustrating process again and would prefer to save my money for future use.

"I bought AIG travel guard for $250."
I bought AIG travel guard for a total of $250. Sadly, my flight got cancelled by the airline. Because of that, I had to book another flight for the next day, which racked up a taxi fare of $178. On top of that, I was stuck without a way to get to my final stop in Delaware since I lost my ride from the Philly airport due to the cancellation. To my surprise, AIG turned down my claim, saying the costs came after I had already arrived. Can you believe that? I really recommend steering clear of this insurance! It's a total scam.

"Smooth Sailing with My Claim"
I recently had the chance to file a claim with my insurance provider, and I gotta say, the whole experience was super smooth and efficient. From beginning to end, I felt like I was in good hands.
To start, submitting the claim was a breeze. The company laid out clear guidelines on what info and documents I needed, making everything pretty straightforward. I really liked the easy-to-use online platform they had, which made things even simpler.
I had my claim for some stolen stuff settled while I was in Vegas on an annual travel plan. It did take a couple of months to wrap up, though. But hey, the payout was three times what I originally paid in premiums.
"Avoid the cheaper insurance options at all costs."
My whole trip got messed up due to the airport staff's incompetence. I filed my insurance claim back in January, and it’s been a maddening four months just to hear that they won’t honor it. It’s super disappointing since they clearly advertise on their site and in their insurance package that they’ll help with certain problems, but when I really needed them, they suddenly said they couldn’t do anything. This seems to be a typical behavior of these low-cost insurance companies; they make you jump through all sorts of hoops just to end up denying your claim. They always find a way to keep your cash instead of sticking to their word. Next time, I’m definitely gonna fork out a bit more for a company that’s trustworthy and has a good reputation.

"Be sure to check out the reviews prior to buying."
I truly wish I had taken the time to read the reviews before I got travel insurance. Turns out, they don’t cover flight interruptions. The agent who assisted me seemed really sincere, but I could go on and on about my disappointment. All in all, I’m really bummed out.
"Claims support is utterly lacking."
The way they handle claims is just awful. It's been five months since I submitted my claim online back in November 2022, and I provided all the required documents like booking confirmations, receipts, proof of payment, itineraries, and details about refunds. Yet, all I get are these automated emails, making it seem like they haven't even looked at what I sent. I've tried reaching out to the adjuster, but no luck there, so now I'm asking to talk to the claims manager. Months have gone by since I filed my claim, and I still haven't spoken to anyone about my issue. Now that it's May, this whole situation is just plain unacceptable.

"Flight Delays and Insurance Woes"
Our flight got held up because of bad weather in DFW. We ended up stuck at the airport for three days on standby, and our bags were nowhere to be found. We made our reservation via Expedia and got AIG Travel Guard insurance, which cost us $667.84. It's been over two months since I submitted my claim, and I've yet to hear back from them. I've sent all the necessary paperwork, but still no sign of reimbursement. I really wouldn't recommend booking through Expedia or getting their AIG Travel Guard insurance, as it just doesn't cover what you think it will. Total waste of cash, if you ask me. I can't be the only one who's run into this problem. This feels like a classic case of shady business practices, and it really needs to be looked into.
"Still no refund after four months of waiting!"
I've been hanging on for my refund for four months, and every couple of weeks, I get an email saying they need more time. It's obvious they don't care about their customers and are totally inept. My suggestion? Just avoid them and don't even think about it.

"🚩🚩🚩🚩 A total scam, steer clear!"
I really recommend you think twice before trusting this company for your insurance. I’ve got major concerns about how legit they are. Calling them for info is just a headache; it feels like they don’t know what they’re doing. They either say they’ll get back to you in a day or just leave you hanging with no answers. It’s honestly a letdown and pretty upsetting, especially when you’re going through a tough time.

"I'd give 'em zero stars if I could."
I'd give 'em zero stars if I could. This company is a complete joke, just out to trick folks and grab their cash. Their coverage is absurd, and it takes ages for them to even look at a claim. Even after all that time, they bend over backwards to find any reason to dodge giving you the service you’ve already paid for. I really recommend steering clear of this circus of a business. Rating: 13 out of 10.

"Had to cut my cruise short because of a hospital stay."
Our trip through the Baltic was totally wrecked when my husband got sick and ended up in a hospital in Norway. It was a real nightmare. To make matters worse, after a grueling 6 months, we only got some of my husband's medical expenses covered, and mine? Not a dime. Can you believe that? As if I’d ever think about cruising without my husband by my side in the hospital. But what really gets my goat is how Travel Guard, the insurance folks, didn’t even bother to pick up the phone or reply to our emails, no matter how many times we tried to contact them. It’s just plain unacceptable. Long story short, we’re never using their services again.

"Amazing Customer Support Experience"
I had a great time dealing with the customer service team. The folks were super helpful and really attentive. They went the extra mile to make sure all my needs were taken care of. I was really impressed with how knowledgeable and professional they were. They were friendly and easy to talk to, which made me feel appreciated as a customer. All in all, I’m really happy with the service I got.
We bought a TravelGuard policy when we got our Frontier airline tickets. Unfortunately, Frontier messed with our flight schedule by more than 13 hours, which totally messed up our travel plans.
Fortunately, we were still in the 15-day "review" window, and TravelGuard quickly refunded our premium as per their policy, without any hassle.
I got to chat with a TravelGuard customer service rep after waiting less than a minute. They walked me through how to submit a written refund request. To my surprise, I got a response to my request in under 24 hours.
